Winter

Lone icicleIt’s been official for a while. Winter is here. Running from your car into the house, into work, into the store. Wearing puffy down coats down to your knees.

I didn’t miss winter one bit when I lived in Albania. It got cold there, too, but it usually didn’t dip below 40 degrees. I’ve told myself to embrace the chilly season this year, so here I am taking a few photos in effort to understand the joy behind the chill.

I found this lone icicle on our back deck this morning. Our neighbors roof awnings are lined with them, and for some reason ours is not.

Tracks in the backyard

I caught my own tracks before they got shoveled away. This is the walk I make every morning out to the car. It’s definitely an upgrade this year with the garage. No more having to dig out or shovel off the car.

Wine and candles – equally as important as a warm winter jacket.
