Stats on this electric acrobat

While looking through some of my photo statistics on Flickr (the website I use to showcase my photos), I was reminded of how much attention this particular photo has received. 787 views! It was taken back in September of ’06 when Ben was visiting. We were eating lunch in Berat, at Tomi’s Hotel, when this man suddenly scaled an insecure ladder. There was no assistant. Not a soul stood down below to hold that ladder in place and ensure his safety.

It must have been routine for him, though, because he casually drilled through various metal parts on the telephone pole, which sent sparks flying everywhere. Yet he seemed so confident and before we finished our lunch he finished his work, climbed down the ladder and went about his day.

I hope he somehow knows that he’s a bit famous on my photo page.
