It’s been about a month …

… since I my life revolved around working on the first two Peace Corps volunteer missions:
-To help the peoples of interested countries & areas in meeting their needs for trained men and women;
-To help promote a better understanding of the American people on the part of the peoples served;

I had a wonderfully random conversation with a woman at a coffee shop today, who I decided to sit down next to for the sake of getting a spot on a comfortable couch. She simply asked me how my day was going. After a few minutes we were exchanging Peace Corps experiences, as her daughter was a volunteer in El Salvador ten years ago. I loved the similarities and differences between the counties, people and life experience. It felt so good to have a heartfelt conversation with a stranger, who voluntarily shared the way she valued cross-cultural experiences.

While I learned about El Salvador, she learned about Albania today. Which hits upon the third mission that I’ll be working on for the rest of my life:

-To help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of the American people.
